Float Your Boat Release Party

Join us Saturday May 19th at Explore Park in Roanoke County for our Float Your Boat Release Party. Last year we gave away a boat, this year you’ll be able to float the Roanoke River for FREE!

Beer, Food Trucks & Music too from 1pm to 6pm!

 

The party will be set up at Explore Park in the old historic area (field in front of the barn).
Shuttle service will be provided from the Journey’s End Parking Lot to the Blue Ridge Parkway put-in (9:00 am; 10:15 am; 11:30 am) You must have your own boat, the County will not be providing boats only shuttle service. You also must be able to carry your own boat down to the river on the path from the Blue Ridge Parkway Parking lot to the Roanoke River, assistance will not be provided.
Return shuttle service from Rutrough Point to Journey’s End parking lot will be provided at (1:00 pm; 2:15 pm; 3:30 pm)
Roanoke County will have one canoe trailer (8 canoes); one kayak trailer (16 kayaks); one open bed trailer (10 kayaks); three vans (34 participants) w/ 12 additional in trucks.
We will honor registered folks first and take any others as first come first served.

Float Your Boat Saison Ale Release Party Explore Park May 19thSmokestack Lightnin’ Blues Band will be providing tunes for the day’s events. They are a blues band based out of Snow Creek. VA’s moonshine capital.
